Singapore Traffic Law Update: 24/7 Protection in Enhanced School Zones

In a major shift for residential safety, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has standardized speed limits around primary schools. Previously, the 40km/h speed limit was only enforced during specific peak hours (arrival and dismissal).

Under the new 2026 rules, Enhanced School Zones now operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This change acknowledges that school facilities are often used for co-curricular activities, community events, and sports outside of standard hours, ensuring that the environment remains safe for children at all times.
